Is Texas really drying up?

I think no matter where you are from, or if you still are there!, your home state is always close to your heart. It seems that is especially true if you are from Texas. I love NC and can't imagine living anywhere else but I am very proud of Texas, and proud to be from Texas. And so the news of the severity of the drought and the devastation caused by it and the wildfires hurts my heart. I received an email from my brother yesterday and almost cried. It seems unbelievable that it is this bad! There is flooding up and down the East Coast and yet Texas is drying up! It is so hard to understand. But we have messed up this old earth for such a long time and been so careless and wasteful, she is really wearing out. Someone asked me the other day 'where was God when children are starving in Somalia?' and I said the same place He was when He gave us this beautiful world He created and asked us to take care of it and each other. The government in Somalia has prevented any humanitaria aid to come through and yet somehow that is God's fault. How He must continually weep over us. Droughts in Texas. floods in New York, we are unbalanced. http://photoblog.statesman.com/dry-season-the-Texas-drought-of-2011
